A Russian woman has been arrested after dressing her cat up to look like a baby in order to stash its clothing with drugs.
After reportedly arousing suspicion, the mother, with what appeared to be her two children, was taken for questioning by police in the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil.
The woman had been walking with her young daughter in the holiday resort with what appeared to be a baby sitting snug inside a pram.
After being intercepted by police, officials realised the young family wasn't quite what it seemed as instead of a baby, they discovered something with feline qualities.
Despite the admittedly ingenious attempt to smuggle the drugs, the inventive scheme ultimately failed and one by one small packages of narcotics were removed from the cat's thick clothing.
In the incredibly bizarre footage, police unzipped the rather confused cat from its thick baby snow suit, also discovering small packages of what appeared to be narcotics inside.
The feline, also wearing a hat and baby grow, poked its head out of the jacked to see what the fuss was about before being removed from the thick jacket by one of the officials.
Police continued to take small packages out of the suit while the bemused and innocent cat lay sprawled on the table.
In a later segment, layers of baby clothing continued to be pulled off from the animal one by one.
Eventually it was revealed that the cat was even wearing a nappy as well as tiny baby boots.
The cat's 'mother' was later seen being detained by officials, cuffed and sitting glumly inside a small cell.

Kitty ping please...
I don’t think the cat was harmed in this
Innocent? It's a cat! It was acting as a drug 'mule', and it knew bloody well what it was doing. Don't let those big eyes fool you ...
The cat was framed I tell you framed!
That cat looks ready to kill the woman who put him in that outfit!
LoL
Nah ... the cat was the brains of the outfit! Don’t let ‘em fool you. They’re devious and sneaky.
So that was high grade Catnip he was smuggling in here?
Notice they don't actually identify the substance. They don't dare ... people can't handle The Truth.
read that headline three times and still couldn’t make sense of it.
The headline writer wanted to do the cutesy “purr-fect” pun, and that it didn’t fit the facts was secondary. Also I’d disagree with the author’s statement that the ruse was “ingenious.” I think using a doll would have been more likely to be successful
Most likely the cat meowed too loud after deciding not to spend all 9 lives in a life of crime.
What would the truth be?
But what happened to the cat? Hope someone is taking good care of it.
