Much has been written about a National divorce.

IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Much has been written in the recent past about the irreconcilable differences between the Left and the Right, and that a national divorce might be appropriate. Many have weighed in on the constitutional implications, and it could even be possible?

In my view, the Constitution has nothing to do with it. For if both sides were willing to follow the Constitution as written, this wouldn't even be an issue. They're not, so to that extent the Constitution is dead already. It certainly doesn't hold us together as a Nation. The differences are indeed irreconcilable, in my opinion.

Above is a 2020 map by county of election results. As you can see, most of the country is Red, with Blue concentrated mostly in cities run, or I should say "mismanaged" by democrats.

This is the way to split up the county that would be workable. The Blues and the Reds are clustered together.

The correct spelling is secession.

The Founders would agree that the present government “ denies those rights “.

It is despotic, and does not represent the will of anyone but the elitists.

Can you do it if you can’t spell it?

If you dissolve the United States “They” win. Their next step will be to take over whatever you have left, and if you can’t keep what you have now how will you keep what you have left?

I don’t believe the map drills down far enough. There is a lot of purple at the county/precinct level. Any civil war won’t be state against state, it will be neighbor against neighbor. It will be more like the Irish Troubles than the American War Between The States.

Let’s see. Electoral votes by county would favor the GOP. No way cities could ‘dilute’ red state electoral votes anymore. Would it work?

The Declaration of Independence was followed by the War for Independence.

Secession would lead to war, as it did in 1861.

Further, you need a Robert Morris to finance secession.

Think Greater Idaho/Jefferson. More EV’s. Then there’s the D.C./PR movement. 4 new Rat senators. We can counter that by restoring(again) the Hawaiian Monarchy. Eliminate 2 senators. Wouldn’t the native Hawaiians vote GOP? I say let all of them in CONUS vote in the Hawaiian election like native Americans. Heh heh.

Our Founders thought they’d limited gov’t enough to protect our freedom. They didn’t. Red States are not as red as they should be. As an Idaho resident I can speak to that.

I look at the current situation & don’t know what would possibly make a difference. An Article V Convention has its drawbacks, & it also has its possibilities. But I don’t think it would be taken far enough to really limit FedGov. And the states individually need limits to powers as well. We are always going to be fighting people with too much money & either ill intentions or misguided good intentions.

The Constitution would not have been ratified if James Madison, who was unequaled in among delegates for scholarship of political organizations, had not with others supported positions that states retained sufficient sovereignty to secede as the last resort to a political impasse created by perceived usurpations or abuses of the federal government. He believed the transcendent law of nature demanding the right of self-preservation declared the safety and happiness of society must dominate political institutions and require their sacrifice. This point was emphasized by the fact the perpetual relationship language binding the colonies and colonists in the Articles of Confederation did not carry over into the Constitution. The point was also emphasized by the fact the Treaty of Paris ending the revolution was signed between Great Britain and the individual colonies as sovereign states and not with the Continental Congress.

In the final days before the Civil War, heated opinions did or did not advocate the right of secession, but none could point to specific language in the Constitution, Federalist Papers, or James Madison’s notes to the Constitutional debates of 1787 saying states could not secede. Instead, one found language supporting peaceful secession.

However, as he took office Lincoln was determined to preserve the Union and in his inaugural address said, “In your hands, my dissatisfied fellow countrymen, and not in mine, is the momentous issue of civil war. The government will not assail you. You can have no conflict without being yourselves the aggressors. You have no oath registered in Heaven to destroy the government, while I shall have the most solemn one to "preserve, protect, and defend it."

Finally, though, disunion was determined by the Southern states, and most particularly South Carolina’s, violent seizure, and destruction of federal property at Fort Sumter independent of any formal or covert discussions of political proprieties.

All Haloes in Hawaii should turn their properties over to the native Hawaiians upon their death. Let them have the power like the natives in Fiji. People from India are the majority but who was there first? Hawaiians love us just enough to know where their bread is buttered. Just ask American Samoans when the real Samoa is just a short boat ride away.

One terrible thing to remember: Civil wars are winner-take-all.

Right now, those 'blue' areas have more strength than 'red' areas. How many J9-ers are still incarcerated without trial? How many Leftists/BLMs/Antifas are incarcerated without trial?

U all gott me started. Just think. Remember the offer Trump made to Kim Jung-un? You know all that development? Just make that offer to the native Hawaiians. We wouldn’t have to go that far. Just promise a tin shack on every lot along with some poi-heaven. They’d do all the work. Think 2 quonset huts on a lot with one for a monthly rental-I’m talking’ bout me.

Hawaiians are us-ok? There’s room for them in the GOP. No need to bribe them. Just show that we love them and don’t wanna use them. Don’t you notice all the churches there? Think Aunt Ester.
