The dad is not a hero.
He shot at two people not doing anything with his daughter, yet, were paying to live in the house, from what I gather.
He fired on them while he was drunk.
Yup, extreme recklessness. The dad blindly shot through a closed door.
No-one hit, apparently. Attempted murder 2nd degree [intentionally shot gun in manner likely to cause death/serious injury but not specifically intending to kill a particular person] is proper charge based on details in story.
I thought the article said the man was in bed with his daughter?
He got drunk with the people he shot at. If you want to protect your children, not getting drunk and not having drunk people in your house is a basic starting point.
When the teenager realized that there was a naked man in her bed, she went to her father and told him about what happened. Police say that the teenage girl “did not allege a crime had occurred against her” when the man was in her bed.
He didn’t shoot at the guy...he shot at the floor.
“Once they returned to their room, Mr. Miller approached their bedroom and began pounding on the door shouting, ‘I’ll kill you,’ after the door was shut and locked on him,” the release states. “That is when Mr. Miller shot his handgun 3-4 times into the floor outside the bedroom door in a rage.”
The headline is purposely misleading click-bate
As you point out, the story is different. the Headline should be: “Drunk man shoots room-renting house guest”
FTA: he allegedly fired multiple shots at a naked man he found sleeping in his teenage daughter’s bed
