Would a “Police Woman” reboot need a natural man or would a trans man do? Maybe a trans woman?

I still have problems with those labels. Is a trans man a man who becomes a woman or vice versa. Ditto a tans woman. Very confusing, and just wait to for them to start talking about who they date.
