I spent many weekend nights cruising colfax in my piece of crap 1976 Plymouth Fury in the mid 80s in that area. Fun times!

This is the democrats plan: To destroy each city and make them drug havens and crime ridden hellholes to punish Americans for being American. To destroy children, make THEM hate America by indoctrinating them in school and to create a cesspool of children to rape and traffic.

Democrat run, Democrat ruined.
And since “they” keep proposing legal injection sites, they’re trying to duplicate Vancouver (which since I’ve been there, is proof that there are real and scary walking zombies.) Denver is close to Vancouver south.
Democrats, they could ruin a pot of gold, and in the case of Denver, they have.

One word explains Denver. And all of Colorado.

Two words actually.

Legal marijuana.

I have been in a permanent state of withdrawal since Casa Bonita closed. If it reopens, I will make a trip to Denver to excessively indulge myself on enchiladas and guacamole. However, if there's no gorilla the deals off.

Trivia…. The Tulsa Casa Bonita had a choochoo train that circled the restaurant interior. The OKC had nuthin but the good texmex.

“John Denver would still love it. He was a screaming lib. and his “rocky mountain high” - legalized marijuana - has accelerated the decline”

The song had nothing to do with drugs but John Denver witnessing the Perseids meteor shower for the first time.

I do agree that the legalized drugs in Colorado are bad for society.

Henry Deutschendorf... never really cared for the strumming minstrel.

Never really really cared for Lightfoot either, much after 1973 or so but Lightfoot had Red Shea, Paul Wideman and later John Stockfish backing him up and those three made that Lightfoot sound.

Well, he does say, at the end, that "Everybody's high".

But, that could be "high on life". I think many people conflate this with 'Poems,Prayers, and Promises", where... everyone passes the pipe around. :-)

Rocky Mountain High is a truly wonderful song.

I used to dig going there in the month of May when the SF Giants would be visiting. Stay at a hotel down town and watch an afternoon game the day after a night game and eat at Hooters. The prices have gone up and Hooters is gone. As BJ would say time to move on. Boulder might be better now that Deion Sanders is now the football coach.

I read an article written by a sports writer who went to a college football game in Colorado. He noticed that most of the college kids were high on marijuana and smelled like they had not bathed in weeks.

I had a Colorado resident tell me recently that most small towns in Colorado have no grocery stores, no Walmarts, no libraries, and not much else. They may have a bank and a Subway inside the gas station. They certainly have lots of dollar stores, bars, liquor stores and tattoo shops. But one thing they most certainly have is at least three or four marijuana shops.

The destruction of Denver: 100% weed and witches.

Last time I was there I was afraid to walk the streets of downtown. Buncha lowlifes wearing black hassled me many times. It is Antifa land.

Too dangerous for me.

You can thank Gyorgy Schwartz for the disastrous state of Colorado (pun intended).

You are correct.

I am a true “native Coloradoan” growing up in Trinidad (just across the New Mexico border on I25). We still own a ranch outside of Trinidad.

When marijuana was legalized, Trinidad saw an incredible increase in sales tax dollars and a rise in the vagabonds who moved in.

Now, with New Mexico also legalizing weed, there is no incentive to stop and purchase the dope and the gummies.

Tax dollars are vaporized, but the small town has become a classic $hithole.
