I hope she delegates some things to me after I retire. Can’t think of anything she would let be do though. Most likely house work. I don’t mind cleaning at all. 20 years in the military made me a pro!!
Ahh, we do share the cooking and cleaning now, too. He runs the grills; I do most all the other cooking and baking. He isn’t retired yet, but I consider myself retired. When we moved to this house (almost ten years ago now), I never looked for a job in the new location. I just take care of this house, this property, and him. That’s why I have the CPO title, among other things.
My sweetheart does do his own laundry, which is really nice. When our kids were in HS, I taught them to do their own laundry, because I wanted them to be functional adults. They all had learned to cook at least some by then. Cleaning? Well, they each have their strengths and weaknesses there. We are clean but not OCD…which afflicts some of my family members, so I have tried not to get lost in the details. I have learned to embrace “good enough” and not “perfection”.
