This is just outrage over nothing. When I pick up a pizza, a screen asks me what I want to tip - 20%, 15%, 10% or 0%
I always pick zero.
If some jerk wants to make a stink about that, he needs therapy.
This crap will kill carry out pizza. Restaurant people have been known to spit on food and worse. Letting takeout staff shake down customers might cost owners business.
A Japanese place I USED to go to now has only take-out. When you pay with a credit card, the choices are 15%, 20% and 25%. This is a restaurant where the owner usually mans the counter.
I always tell them I left my glasses in the car and can't read the screen. They don't have the guts to ask for it verbally then I hand over the credit card and ask about the Senior discount.
On pick up orders I always leave $1 tip.
Tipping is for paying the waitress extra for attentive service.
For a takeout order, the place doesn’t get the expense of clearing your table, washing your plates and utensils, etc, so why should they expect extra?
If anything, they should give you a DISCOUNT for takeout.

I hate that!
I intentionally pay cash at a local coffee shop because of that. If I’m paying a couple of bucks for a slice of apple pie , it just doesn’t seem right the POS (Point Of Sale) console wants me to proactively chip in extra... before I’ve even tried the pie.
I don't see too many offering a 0% option - usually it starts at 15%.
