I worked for a local chemical company a couple of decades ago.

There were lots of legends about the eccentric founder.

His wife liked him wearing a stovepipe had, so he had a special vehicle made with a bulge in the roof so he could wear it when being driven around. His wife refused to get into it, so it was never used.

One time he had his driver stop the car. The driver heard the door shut and headed home. When he got there, Mr. █████████ was nowhere to be found. He went back to the stopping point, and Mr. █████████ was there waiting for him. He got in the car and they went home. Not a word was ever spoken about the incident.
