Besides my goofy rescue greyhound, I’ll be solo this Christmas Eve. All is well. Had some solid family time with my kids last night, and will be with family tomorrow.
But, for now, I’m enjoying a salted caramel latte, basking in the glow of the Christmas tree lights and about to plug George Bailey and company into the old Blu-ray player.
Anyone else spending this Christmas Eve alone?

I was expecting to see my first grandbaby in person for the first time, but my son and his wife’s flight was delayed all day then finally cancelled two hour ago. It was supposed to be a boisterous, Christmas Eve at his best friend’s home, but it’s going to be another quiet one, again, just the three of us. I usually don’t mind, but I had a lot of anticipation to see them.

Several of my family and friends are sick with flu and colds - and we had a family members marriage break up which is where we all gathered for Christmas. So that's fallen into history now.....for the second year. We tried to meet anyway the first year....talk about an elephant in the room! It was dreadful all trying to be ‘normal’ when it certainly wasn't.
You're smart to stay home when not feeling well......but I'm like a bear hibernating in Winter so eventually I've got to wander out for a breather.

For the shot where Hans Gruber falls from the top of the building, Alan Rickman was really dropped 40-feet onto an airbag with a blue-screen cover; the background was later edited in. A stuntman held Rickman up with a rope. The stunt crew was to count to 3 before releasing, but to get a genuine reaction from Rickman, the stunt man released the rope on the count of two, not three.
Rickman later said during a Q&A that the stunt was purposely done on his last day on set.

Aw, I am sorry for your disappointment. I am sure you were so excited to see that grandchild. This weather we are having has spoiled more than a few celebrations this year.

Thank you, yeah, I did. I knew about the weather and airlines, but hoped they could get here. The baby is supposed to be baptized next weekend here as well, so I hope it lets up.
I always watch Bad Santa for Christmas eve.

Hurt my back a few weeks ago. Somedays I’m fine. Today was not one of those days so I’m skipping my usual Christmas Eve friends’ get together.
Just finished “It’s A Wonderful Life”. “Die Hard” is next!
I am getting close to losin’ it. I look out the window a lot. Come Wednesday around here it is supposed to be about 50 degrees. Yes!!!! I am getting out of here even if it is to drive to a local coffee shop.
That is if my car starts. It hasn’t been driven for two weeks and we are in the deep freeze now.
