thingumspouse and I taught our boys about this MOSTLY forgotten part of how the African’s ended up on those slave ships and one of them schooled his history teacher (at a private school) right in front of the 3rd grade class. She admitted it was true that the African tribes would raid each other’s villages and take captives to sell for trinkets to those European ship captains but then told the class she didn’t know much more about it.
He also asked her if “Indentured servitude was a kind of slavery.”
thingumspouse and I always subscribed to the theory that if the teachers with agenda’s were willing to openly indoctrinate the young minds but then the young minds could help them in a way that was inconvenient to their desired results.
Wish I could have been there to watch. We were so proud of our son for helping the class to see a bigger picture.
