The Boston Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Office of the Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe, the Provincetown Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, are announcing that after nearly a half-century, the oldest, unidentified homicide victim in Massachusetts, dubbed the “Lady of the Dunes,” has been identified as Ruth Marie Terry of Tennessee.
Sounds like a mob hit.

Yes. But somehow I’m reminded of how it only took the DOJ and FBI to imprison suspected persons tagged (by them as insurrectionists) and keep them in the DC Gulag for almost a year without trial.
AFAIC, the FBI is not doing the job it purports to the American people it says it is for.

They are forced to toss out a “case solved” like this every now and then to divert attention from their gross criminal activity the past 20 years.

There’s been speculation that Whitey Bulger was somehow involved as removing hands were part of his MO and he hung out in P-town bars.

Whitey Bulger used to cut off the hands and pull the teeth of some of his victims, many former female lovers, to prevent their bodies from being identified. He buried some on the seaside nearer to Boston, but dumping a body on the Cape isn’t out of the question. There are no tolls or other barriers driving from Boston to the Cape, and the shoreline is nearly deserted off-season.
It was a private Texas lab that did the work, not sure if the FBI was that involved.
That’s about the gist of it. AFAIC, every stinking one of them in the current FBI and DOJ are nothing but deep state leftists intent on furthering the insane agenda of the Democrat Party and this Administration.

Local news story says an attempt was made to remove her teeth, which implies she knew her killer, since it was someone who feared he could be connected to her. The body wasn’t buried, but found under a blanket about two weeks after she was killed.
Bulger “frequented” P-Town bars often and was in the area that summer.
I believe the two female victims of Whitey were actually girlfriends of his partner Steven Flemmi who Whitey thought knew too much.
