Drummer of the legendary punk band Dead Kennedys, D.H. Peligro, has died at the age of 63 following an accidental fall at his home.
The band's social media pages state how Peligro, whose real name was Darren Henley, died at his Los Angeles home on Friday.
'Police on the scene stated that he died from trauma to the head caused by an accidental fall. We ask that you respect the family's privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts and words of comfort,' the post stated. 'Arrangements are pending will be announced in the coming days,' the group added.
Peligro was a fixture with the Kennedys until the band parted ways in 1986, but he returned when they got back together 15 years later in 2001.
The group had only just returned to the US following a European tour that saw them visit venues in Poland, Germany and France.
He was their second drummer taking over from Ted (Bruce Slesinger), who left in 1981 to become an architect.
Peligro has appeared with the group as recently as 2019 and features on 12 of the band's albums.
When the band split, Peligro played for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, before he succumbed to drug and alcohol issues two years later which led to him being replaced.
Despite his demons, Peligro remained a friend of the band and helped him get sober.

Most people don’t realize how dangerous stairs are. Rob Grill from The Grass Roots fell down the stairs in his Florida home and was never the same and passed away not long after.
He’s a dead Dead Kennedy now.
Somewhat ironic choice of a stage name.
I wonder if he’s grateful?
That would make him a Dead x2 Kennedy. Anybody see anyone on the grassy knoll this time?
Europe? Not Cambodia?
The DKs logo in the background is a nice touch.
Dead Kennedy- theee best punk band.
Holiday in Cambodia
So, you’ve been to school
For a year or two
And you know you’ve seen it all
In daddy’s car
Thinking you’ll go far
Back east your type don’t crawl
Playing ethnicky jazz
To parade your snazz
On your five-grand stereo
Braggin’ that you know
How the niggers feel cold
And the slum’s got so much soul
It’s time to taste what you most fear
Right Guard will not help you here
Brace yourself, my dear
Brace yourself, my dear
It’s a holiday in Cambodia
It’s tough, kid, but it’s life
It’s a holiday in Cambodia
Don’t forget to pack a wife
You’re a star-belly sneetch
You suck like a leech
You want everyone to act like you
Kiss ass while you bitch
So you can get rich
While your boss gets richer off you
Well, you’ll work harder
With a gun in your back
For a bowl of rice a day
Slave for soldiers
Till you starve
Then your head is skewered on a stake
Now you can go where the people are one Now you can
Go where they get things done What you need, my son...
What you need, my son...
Is a holiday in Cambodia
Where people are dressed in black
A holiday in Cambodia
Where you’ll kiss ass or crack
Pol Pot, Pol Pot, Pol Pot, Pol Pot
It’s a holiday in Cambodia
Where you’ll do what you’re told
It’s a holiday in Cambodia
Where the slums got so much soul
Pol Pot

Nice!
“Most people don’t realize how dangerous stairs are.”
************
I slipped on stairs just last night. Fortunately I was holding onto the rails and was able to avoid injury.
Your cautionary note is spot on.
California Uber Alles and Holiday in Cambodia were required listening when I was in highschool. In fact, when I went to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat a few years ago, I kept singing that song repeatedly while I was driving around Phnom Penh and Siem Reap
Let's name a group after them.
Dead Dead Kennedys.
Actors William Holden and Jeffrey Hunter were found at the bottom of their stairs in their homes.
Wasn’t William Holden found at the bottom of his swimming pool?
Let's ask Jerry.
Oh! Wait!
Was that Jello singing or someone else.
