Decades ago, the boy in the bubble came up in the news for years on end until his sad passing. This medical phenomenon was immortalized in the eponymous Paul Simon song. While listening to the song on the radio, I wondered why we don't hear similar news stories any more. In looking up the background, I came across a news item about the passing of the doctor who kept him alive. He apparently figured out how to fix the problem. These are truly the days of miracles and wonder.

If recall the story. I had never heard of such a condition until then. This was just a few years after AIDS panic had swept much of the big city and coastal areas.
