France died in WWI.
The interwar period, France was a hot mess, it was ripe for the pickings. Generals were still stuck in WWI, when the Nazis attacked.
So true. And in the 6 weeks they were outclassed and out generaled, the French soldier fought long and hard, 60,000 to the death.
And I wasn’t picking on Brits either (except those Royal Navy clowns who were captured in SIGHT of their warship)
But the fact is, every unit could get that surrender monkey label. The western US states were FILLED tens of thousands of Africa Corps Germans. Something like 90,000 Germans surrendered at Stalingrad.
But for some reason people love to pretend the French are surrender prone. I suspect it is a Brit slander against their forever rival. It simply has no basis in fact, not even close. The Japanese pretty much are the only ones that get the gold medal for “no surrender”.
