Last week, PayPal released an "Acceptable Use Policy" that included a $2,500 fine for people who use their service involving "the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials that…promote misinformation." We scoured the rest of PayPal's AUP and Terms Of Service, and you might be surprised at what else can incur a $2,500 fine, so we listed out the biggest surprises here for your convenience. Not having a Ukrainian flag in your bio: This is grounds for an immediate $2,500 fine which will be immediately sent to help fund the war effort.

If PayPal takes misinformation like this seriously, imagine the fines for full-blown disinformation! Watch out!

Well...truth be told, they really do have to do something about Steve.
I know this is the Bee and I am sure that PayPal has improved their security but about a decade ago PayPal was hacked so many times that a few of my financial customers (banks, CUs) asked that our software deny any and all debit requests that could be identified as flowing thru PP.
I haven’t used PP since.
Posting a positive review on Yelp or Facebook of Ben’s Chile Bowl, a famous eatery on U Street NW, in the heart of Washington, DC’s black community, if you’re not black. That would be cultural appropriation.
I posted this on another thread but I called PP customer service and they said it was never intended to be a policy. Just some “individual” who did it on their own.

I left the following message in the Comments Section as to why I was cancelling....
"It's not that you were going to steal $2500 from us for alleged nefarious activities. What is more incredibly disturbing is that you, a simple financial transaction company providing an anonymous cash link between buyer and seller, is actually monitoring or surveilling us and knows WHAT the buyer/seller activities ARE, in order to steal the $2500 in the first place. You have lost all credibility and my business permanently, forever. The piss off is that now I have to cancel my credit card because I can't even trust you with the basics. Good bye."
