Not everyone is onboard with the idea that we live in a clown world and so such humor is an appropriate response directed at the clown world, not the victims.

There’s a point to be made and the world is a hostile place. If you cannot see the subtle logic in the point being made I’m sorry. Get a grip.
We have a local County-wide community watch group on FB. It’s a lot of busy-bodies going around taking pictures of motorhomes and tweeking street people. Yesterday, one of them posted that she got her $900 glasses slapped off her head and stomped on by an arm-waving crazy. My reaction is “Did ya learn anything?” A lot of their activities, however well-intentioned, are not too bright.
