NEW POLL: DRAZAN (R) LEADS IN OR GOV RACE SURVEY (Oregon)

September 28, 2022 – A new Clout Research poll shows Republican Christine Drazan leads Democrat Tina Kotek in the race for governor by a slim margin heading down the stretch to Election Day.

The survey shows Drazan with 38% support, compared to 35% support for Kotek. Democrat-turned-independent Betsy Johnson pulls 16% support, the survey shows.

This latest poll, like previous polls of the race conducted by Clout Research, shows broad dissatisfaction with the status quo, as 59% of Oregonians feel the state is headed in the wrong direction. Just 27% feel Oregon is headed on the right track, mirroring the disastrous polling approval numbers of President Joe Biden across the country. Clout has found similar dissatisfaction numbers for Governor Kate Brown in repeated polls over the past several months.

Drazan leads Kotek by a wide margin among unaffiliated voters, the survey shows, as Kotek wins just 16% support from independents, compared to a strong 40% support for Drazan among independent voters. While Democrats have dominated recent election cycles in Oregon, the turn of Independent voters against the Democrat in this race marks a turning point in a state as blue as they come, as economic and social concerns rise in the minds of voters.

Even if we don’t win all of these elections, the fact that republicans have been polling close or ahead in blue States is a sign of the red wave coming. Hopefully.

Kate Brown. If it’s Brown, flush it down.

The key result isn’t shown:

In a two-way race, Drazan leads 53 to 47. I thought, “Meh, this probably just means the Democrats are divided in the first round.” But Johnson, the Dem-turned-Independent would yield just as many 2nd-round votes to Drazan.

(And may I say: isn’t it time you made the gender swap official, Kotek?)

In every poll ..roughly 20%suport any insane idea there is.
While 10% are unsure.
Roughly 50-60% oppose any insane idea.
With 10% uncertain what planet they live on.

Baris said this morning that Democrats are fighting and the Indy is taking a lot of votes. This is why you don’t have runoffs.

I’m hoping that Betsy will pull votes away from Kotek. That’s why I signed the petition to get Betsy on the ballot. Just like the spoilers we’ve seen so many times: Ralph Nader, Ross Perot, etc. Tina is just as bad as Kate Brown, if not worse. We need Christine and all of the Republicans running if we have any chance of saving Oregon. I’m also voting for Alek Skarlatos - he’s young and inexperienced, but I think he’s got a heck of an opportunity to learn and become a great congressman.
