A new viral video is bound to drive a stake through the heart of every Ferrarista out there, if not every car enthusiast: an early 1994 classic perished in a spontaneous fire on a French highway, and there was nothing left to salvage from it. The potential buyer mentioned above, as well as the current owner, were both inside the car when the blaze started.
These days, a unit retails for anything between $90,000 and $200,000, or in rare cases as much as $400,000, depending on condition.

Is this possible?
Greek lighting?
Hard to believe isn't an EV.
Let me guess, that’s not covered by insurance?
It’s what Ferraris do.
EVs can catch fire when not running. That’s the big difference.
Occasionally (also running) diesels will “run away”, more common on mechanical direct injection when a serious faulr develops, but also if they can start slurping up their oil, and the results can be spectacular.
Interestingly, a Lister stationary diesel or any other make and break diesel, is practically immune to running away ... bada*boom*kisk!
lucky boy...
Essere Ferrari, fuoco Ferrari.
The guy is lucky he was only on a test drive. He would have really been pissed if it would have happened after he paid for it and got it home.
What battery did it have?
Oh...inconvenient...
This has nothing to do with the Italian election. But I’m always suspicious of the French.
No wonder it was for sell
He waited too long
See? Gas cars burn too! (EV apologist) < /sarc >
Years ago a local radio station, KVIL, was running a thing where you drove up to Texas Stadium to get an envelope ... some would have prizes in them. We got enough cash to pay for gas and dinner out.
Now, it was a HOT day ... I should have said that, so paying for gas was nice because the AC was running full blast and the gas was getting sucked down as we waited in the long line of cars.
Also in the long line of cars was a brand spanking new Yugo ... that caught fire and burned to the ground.
I can see where some global warming puke might have sabotaged it.
This model has fuel lines that can dry out and crack. Italian quality.
Burn down? Burn up? Which way did it go?
Here’s one for the Tesla Troll to add to his arsenal of gas car fire images, to be ready to deploy at a moment’s notice.
Obviously it wasn't "well-maintained".
A Paul Shanklin classic from the Rush Limbaugh show (sung to the tune of Elvis Presley's In the Ghetto:
As the snow fliesAt a used car lot on the edge of town
A liberal guy and a liberal gal
Buy a Yugo
And they drive with pride
Cause if there's one thing that this world needs
It's environmental friends who'll take the lead
In a Yugo
They say, "people don't you understand
Those suburbans are ruining the land"
But they'll wish they had a full size van one day
They point fingers at you and me
They say we're too blind to see
But do we simply use our heads
And choose another way?
As those small wheels turn
Fifty miles to the gallon
And their knees on their chest
They're gonna save enough gas
For all of the rest
In a Yugo
Then one day on the interstate
They suddenly lose control
They swerve to miss a baby duck
They're squashed beneath a produce truck
But they drove with pride...
And as the crowds drive past a little flat car
You know they saved a lot of gas
But they didnt get far
In a Yugo
And as they're trapped inside
At a used car lot on the other side of town
A liberal guy and a liberal gal
Buy a Yugo....
And they drive with pride...
