President Donald Trump's former White House lawyer Ty Cobb called the ex-president "a deeply wounded narcissist" who is "incapable" of acting out of anything other than self-interest in an interview with CBS News' Major Garrett.
Garrett pressed Cobb, who worked in the White House as a special counsel to Trump in 2017 and 2018 and represented the former president during his first impeachment, about Trump's refusal to admit he lost the 2020 election.
"Do you regard that as a defect in his character?" Garrett asked.
"My personal view is that it's less a character issue than a personality defect," Cobb said. "I believe former President Trump to be a deeply wounded narcissist, and he is often incapable of acting other than in his perceived self-interest, or for revenge. I think those are the two compelling instincts that guide his actions."
Cobb cited "abject narcissism" in explaining Trump's refusal to listen to assurances from his own Justice Department and former Attorney General Bill Barr that the 2020 election wasn't stolen via massive fraud.
Cobb said those instincts are why it "takes particularly strong advisers" to help Trump understand what's in his own best interest.

I think Ty Cobb is striking out here.
“Trump is a narcissist so I ran to the nearest See BS camera I could find to bring attention to myself about this”
... and Obama, Clinton & Biden are pure in this regard? A bigger bunch of chest-thumping zeroes I’ve never seen.
The idea is to get enough of them to say these things to where his support begins to wane. Many like this guy worked for him. Lot of back stabbers in this world. They need to be exposed like the Cheneys.
Funny they seldom (if ever) say these things about Hillary or Obama in INGSOC media.
Other than Don Jr., Eric, and possibly Rudy Giuliani, is there anyone who was a part of Trump’s inner circle that hasn’t turned on him yet?
Yes, Trump personally was a $h!+a$$. He was boorish. Yes, he would sometimes play a little fast and loose with the truth and embellishment (really now, what politician doesn’t?????) He was unrelenting in his self-promotion. At times, he was downright unlikable . . . BBBUUUUUTTTTT, in terms of policy and effectiveness, for regular Americans like me, he was clearly the best President of my lifetime . . . even better than Reagan.
“who is ‘incapable’ of acting out of anything other than self-interest”
That’s why he took an annual salary of $1.00 while in office.
So now a lawyer thinks he’s a psyciatrist.
After serving for a brief time as special counsel in the White House, examining the “Russian collusion” charges and as part of the WH legal counsel team to the Mueller investigation, Cobb commented that he did not think the Mueller Investigation was a “witch hunt”. If it was not a witch hunt, then what was it???
Speaking of character flaws, what kind of character would a former lawyer of a person constantly under attack by his enemies have to take it upon himself to reveal privileged information (and that would include his opinion of said client) to one of those enemies.
So Cobb thinks he is qualified to make a psychiatric diagnosis ?
Sounds like quite the narcissist himself.

1. Honestly, the US Attorneys across the country have not wanted to pursue cases. For example, in Philadelphia, I’m aware of a case of alleged fraud brought to the USA’s office there and the individuals couldn’t even get through the door.— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) December 1, 2020
2. I regret to say is misleading for AG Barr to issue his declaration to the AP as he did since the DOJ has been very passive.https://t.co/Bs1rhEgAQe— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) December 1, 2020
Educate yourself, Ty.
Maybe all the character flaws led to great decisions in his drive to be the best
My life was better off under trump than Biden that is for sure. I am reminded of the that at the gas station
I’d like to know how much this old dirtbag got paid for this soundbite. I see that John Dowd who used to work for the DoJ was the one who recommended Corn Cobb.
He violated the rules of professional conduct by giving that interview. He should be disbarred.
One and only criticism of Trump; he aligned himself with so many disloyal piece of human debris. I’ m sure when he returns he will scrutinize candidates much better.
Cobb represented the institution of the presidency and not the president.
Cobb worships the ground Mueller and Weinstein walk on and despised Gulianni.
He’s a D.C. fixture who is as anti-American as Peter Strozk, Christopher Wray, James Comey and Merrick Garland.
When you’re in this clique it’s chic to trash Trump now, they’ll all get attaboys at the bar after work. Sickness.
Talk about a narcissist.
Ty Cobb should have stuck to baseball. Frankly, I’m surprised he’s still alive.
