Wife and I got married in a private ceremony 10+ years ago. Very few people sent us gifts. This has nothing to do with COVID.
There was an article from 2021 about wedding vaccine mandates. In this one story, the bride and groom basically told all attendees that they're not welcome if they don't get the shot. In a twist, the bride's Dad (ya know...the guy paying for it all) refused to get a shot. Ruh roh...
my husband and I actually were FORMALLY UNINVITED to a wedding, in 2020, after an outdoor shower where we’d taken a gift !
they had heard that we MAY have been exposed to COLD-19
We were not sick, and the Crazy CDC Guideline time should have been overlong enough anyway, for The CV Believers
still don’t talk to them...
My daughter got married five years ago. She had a great wedding reception at a lovely venue with good food and good music. Most of the so-called friends that attended did not give the couple a wedding gift. I am old school and I personally believe that was extremely bad form.
We closed the open bar and ended the reception after 30 minutes. She also had the Maitre d present the guests with a bill for their meal. Never had anything to do with most of the attendees in the future and my wife pretty much disowned her parents after that. Each of her parents passed away as strangers to her.
