The Senate is Very Much in Play for the GOP

The spin heading toward Labor Day is that Republican chances of winning a Senate majority are fading. A GOP takeover of the U.S. House hangs by a thread... Nonsense.

Corporate media is at it again, shilling for Democrats. The spin heading toward Labor Day is that Republican chances of winning a Senate majority are fading. A GOP takeover of the U.S. House hangs by a thread. Nonsense. In fact, Republicans are going to win a House majority and have a good shot of doing the same in the Senate.

Of course, there are no guarantees -- life is like that -- but swallowing Mitch McConnell’s trash talk is foolish. McConnell is dissing some Republican Senate candidates as low quality. Mitch is being sly.

McConnell is a notorious inside player with practically zero feel for voter sentiment (McConnell went to D.C. as an intern in 1964. The Swamp is in his blood). Old Man Mitch wants a GOP caucus he can control. Add Trump-endorsed senators to the mix and McConnell may face unwanted challenges to his leadership. McConnell, like most pols, is about power and money. Mitch doesn’t want the applecart upset with more Trump loyalists in his caucus.

Right-thinking Americans should be hopeful about the GOP capturing the Senate.

Campaigns don’t gear up until after Labor Day. Most voters don’t start focusing on politics until summer ends and kids are back in school. Horse race numbers before Labor Day are sketchy and the pastime of the political class.

I picked up Demmy Denise on my shortwave radio the other day.
s/he sounded a lot like Tokyo Rose or Hanoi Hanna...

(I couldn’t tell of Demmy was a male or female. so I used the “safest” androg pronoun I could think of. Don’t wanna offend anybody — even a sworn enemy.))

Ranted on some stuff about losing our Significant Others (”Partners”) to “dalliances” while we wasted our time following Repubby office-seekers around like little duped mind slave suckers.

Musta been the same script writer for all three.... s/he played some nice soft Rock music, and gave some sports scores — so it was fun to listen to.

Ah, good. S/He’s playing Carpenters right now, as I write this... “Yesterday Once More,” is the title, I think.

Pretty smart to use shortwave radio, actually. Demmy knows that only Repubbies use shortwave radio, and that we all have it.

BHUhahahahahahahahaha!

And the Bret Baeir pearl clutchingly on Fox News is trying to pass this meme on to viewers! What a laugh.

All Republicans have to do is turn out the vote and ignore idiots like Mitch McConnell.

The GOP will take both houses.

Count on it. GET BEHIND MAGA!

Not according to McConnell. Our candidates, he says, “suck wet dog fur.”

Hard to believe that a 50/50 split can’t be overcome, in view of the “Red Wave” that’s supposed to be coming.

The SWAMP has nothing to worry about. If the GOPe takes over the Senate, McConnell will be the leader.

It is time for Republicans generally, and Conservatives specifically, to accept demographic reality.

Thirty-six years of massive legal immigration have given the Democrats a legal majority.

If the Democrats get their legal voters to the polls, they can win the popular vote in every Presidential election, but not necessarily the Electoral Vote.

In Congress, if the Democrats get their legal voters to the polls, the Republicans - at best - can win the House by 10 Representatives, and maybe win the Senate at 51-49.

Also problematic - at best, 10% of elected Republicans will be RINOs.

I said “supposed to be coming”, not that I think so personally. That said, throughout history, the pendulum has only swung so far, before swinging back.
We’re seeing such a swing to the extreme left currently, that I do believe it could correct soon. The insane fiscal policies of the current band of buffoons has finally caused many sideliners to notice. That may well cause a swing back to the conservative side in upcoming elections. We’ll see.

I’ll really think my vote for a R Senate candidate was a total waste if the Senate is taken by the Rs and the Senators vote to keep Mitch McConnell in the leadership role !!

The author clearly doesn’t understand the significance of NY-19. As some here insisted yesterday, it’s over for the GOP, done.

Abortion is the only issue everyone cares about. That is all.

So give up everyone. It’s done. NY-19.

Real Clear Politics has the Senate evenly split, with 8 toss up races. But another 50-50 result gives the Democrats control, so there is a slight Democratic edge.
