I suspect it has more to do with cleanup than the actual cooking. That said I can cook a complete meal, eat it and the dishes hand washed and done within five minutes after getting up from the table. It is nice to just get up and leave though.
Or maybe just easier to let someone else make your choices and print them on a menu; how boring!
