For most of 2022, Democratic voters have been far more ambivalent about participating in the fall midterms than their Republican counterparts. According to conventional Beltway wisdom, however, that enthusiasm gap has been narrowed by the recent Roe v. Wade ruling and the Jan. 6 hearings. It’s probable, though, that last Monday’s FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate will reestablish the Republican advantage. This unprecedented action will likely energize GOP voters and drown any increase in Democratic enthusiasm beneath a red tsunami.
The first poll to measure public response to the raid indicates that it has galvanized Republicans and Independents. A new survey conducted by the Trafalgar Group for Convention of States Action found that 83.3 percent of GOP voters and 71.7 percent of Independent voters are more motivated to vote in the midterms than they were before the FBI descended on Mar-a-Lago. Moreover, when asked who they believed was behind the FBI action, 76.7 percent of Republicans answered, “Trump’s political enemies,” and 53.9 percent of Independents agreed. A mere 11.9 percent of Democrats said that the search was politically motivated.

“The share of Hispanics who said the Mar-a-Lago raid increased their motivation to vote in the midterms was a whopping 80 percent, while 69.9 percent said it was initiated by Trump’s political enemies. This suggests that this episode may well accelerate the increasing tendency of Hispanics to vote Republican.”
Everything I had read said Trump-endorsed Michels had ZERO chance of being the nominee for governor in WI, and I don't read mainstream anything. And it wasn't even close.

Which makes it even more likely the midterms will be postponed or rescheduled.
After the midterms, the dems will turn on Merrick Garbage and Fay Wray and put the blame squarely on them. Will be great theater.
Hopefully a lot of Hispanics recognize the danger and corruption in a one-party authoritarian state and don’t want it here.
November is still a longs ways away. For the moment, this helps Trump-supporting Republicans and exposes traitors like McConnell. Will they capitalize on this and will it last?
I like that part too.
In your dreams - so far Democrats have outnumbered Republican voters in every Primary.
In some Red States, GOP turn out was less than 20%. China Mitch and Kevin McCarthy have been silent on turning out Republican voters in November.
The Dems will find the votes needed to win while Republicans will stay home and send out angry emails.
That’s what I’m thinking. They’ve seen this before. They recognize these thuggish regime tactics. I doubt they are going to have a positive opinion about it or the regime that did it.
I agree. The DS will do something to prevent the midterms from being held is a big possibility/probability.
the proportion of recent anti-trump to trump news articles returned by google news approaches 100%.
i do not see the elections being postponed since it would be a break with law and tradition that the deep state seems to be trying to adhere to with the raid itself.
any trial would take longer than 90 days.
the deep state seems to have boxed itself in, by making pro trump voters even more likely to vote than before.
the only deep state recourse at this point appears to be to incarcerate trump without bail and then announce the discovery of his “suicide” while in prison.
(if this is tried, i don’t think the deep state will get away with this without starting a second civil war.)
The election will stolen...
One thing the Mar-a-Lago raid did was heat up the physical revolutionary rhetoric. The oligarchs would like nothing more that an excuse to declare Marshall law, freeze all the elections, and come for all the guns. I say we should take the fight to them, but only if it would be a quick and decisive victory. Otherwise, I think we should hold fast until we see what November brings. There is no doubt those in power have declared war on the American people. But, we should have patience, but be ready to go all out if the dam breaks.
On ABC’s Sunday program This Week, one panelist said that the FBI raid on Mara-a-Lago will help Democrats more than Republicans for the 2022 midterms. I disagree. Generally the side that “lost” or feels victimized or more motivated than the side that “won”. That argument was used when Roe vs. Wade was overthrown by the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization to boost Democrat turnout in the midterms. However Trump is the “victim” here and will energize Republicans more than Democrats.

You are correct. Flash back to 1998 when Democrats did great in the midterms thanks to Ken Starr’s Monica investigation. This raid has fired up a lot of Republicans and Republican leaning Is.
Do you think the Feds have the resources to enforce “marshal law” on all 50 states with 350 million people? LOL!!!!
Why vote for a party that refuses to fight for those that voted for them? Democrats and their allies have declared war on those that don’t follow them or question their beliefs and policies.
Once again, why should I place my name on a list that Democrats will use to harm me? 87,000 IRS agents and now the weaponized FBI, CIA, and DOJ are all tools of the Democrats.
The raid changed my mind. I was all set to vote for Rebecca Kleefisch on Tuesday, but I voted for Trump’s pick, Michels, instead. I know I’m not alone in that in the Great State of Wisconsin.
Now, we just need to rid ourselves of Tony ‘One and Done’ Evers (D, WI) and life will be grand. :)
I think they knew that would happen but were counting on getting an indictment on the theory that an indicted person cannot run or that the populace would recoil from voting for an indicted person, maybe both. Even a felony conviction does not bar a person from running even if it is such as to bar him from serving. An actual trial and conviction- and he would be convicted at the first level though a higher court would overturn- that trial can be put off for the necessary time by lawyers a billionaire can afford,
