Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) introduced a bill this week that would ban the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from purchasing any more ammunition, after having already reached an alarmingly high amount.
As reported by Just The News, Gaetz’s bill, the “Disarm the IRS Act,” would forbid the tax-collecting agency from buying ammunition after the agency has already acquired up to 5 million rounds. In 2022 alone, the agency has purchased at least $725,000 worth of ammo.
“I’m not against stockpiling ammunition,” Gaetz said, “but you shouldn’t have to be a D.C. accountant to do it; you ought to be a mechanic in Pensacola.”
Gaetz went on to say that the Biden administration wants to “disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons,” and “still collect your taxes,” and may use the massive stockpile of ammunition to do it by force.
The bill, which is cosponsored by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), and Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), would first have to pass through the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
“Why is Biden trying to weaponize the IRS?” Duncan tweeted in support of the bill. Rep. Gosar issued a similar statement saying that the bill was necessary in order to disarm “this band of highwaymen and stop them from taking our money under the threat of violence.”
Multiple reports have confirmed that the IRS has become increasingly militarized in recent years. In 2018, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report revealed that there were over 2,100 law enforcement officers working for the IRS’s Criminal Investigation Division, armed with over 4,400 weapons and over 5 million rounds of ammunition. In 2020, the watchdog group OpenTheBooks.com revealed that the agency had spent over $21.3 million on firearms, ammo, and military-grade equipment between 2006 and 2019, with the gun stockpile reaching over 4,500.

Does anyone think that the IRS is going to help guard the border? No, the guns and ammo are to threaten us.

The IRS just had their budget go from $12 billion to over $80 billion. They are expanding exponentially and will be focusing on enforcement.....against political opponents.
They will harass until someone starts shooting to demonstrate what a danger we are to the nation.

That’s funny.

“Matt Gaetz Introduces Bill Banning IRS”
This would be a more useful bill, imo.
When critical assets are closely-aggregated it makes ‘collection’ of those assets easier when the time comes.
"He has erected a multitude of offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."
Our Founding Fathers would have burned down their offices and houses long ago.
At least some Republicans in Congre$$ are still working for the people.

WHO ARE THE IRS’ POLITICAL OPPONENTS?
In May 2009, details emerged about a terrorism dictionary the Obama administration had put together in March. The “Domestic Extremism Lexicon,” was essentially a terrorism and political extremism dictionary for the Obama administration’s internal use.
The March 26, 2009 document features numerous definitions and the headline “antiabortion extremism,” appears on page two of the eleven-page manual.
The Obama administration called pro-life advocates violent and claims they employ racist overtones in engaging in criminal actions.
The definition read: “A movement of groups or individuals who are virulently antiabortion and advocate violence against providers of abortion-related services, their employees, and their facilities. Some cite various racist and anti-Semitic beliefs to justify their criminal activities.
That followed a report the Department of Homeland Security sent out saying pro-life advocates were right-wing extremists.
In that document, the Department of Homeland Security warned law officials about a supposed rise in “rightwing extremist activity,” saying the poor economy and presence of a black president could spark problems.
BREAKING - republican introduces bill they know will never pass because they’re the minority party.
There you go again.....clouding the issue with common sense and logic!
I pay every dime I owe. They start sending armed tax collectors around and I respond in kind. I will not allow this type of authoritarianism on my watch. It may shorten my watch, but I will have done my part. Anyone thinks we’ll be able to vote our way out of the mess we’re in wasn’t paying attention the last time we “voted”.
I agree it can never pass. But it can make great election ads. This is what the democRATs do so well. We need to learn how to fight back.
Agreed...

The ratification of such an amendment by the states would effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government imo.
From related threads...
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
The congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had left the care of the people uniquely to the states, not the feds.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Once unconstitutional federal taxes (see Gibbons v. Ogden excerpt above) are permanently stopped by repeal of 16&17A, each state will ultimately find a tsunami of new revenues (imo) that can be used to increase salaries for teachers, police and fire-fighters too. And that's just for starters.
Let's also include the states maintaining their own infrastructure.
Additionally, no more forced compliance with desperate Democratic, politically correct but unconstitutional federal gender-related civil rights protections in order for school kids to eat likewise unconstitutional federal lunches paid for with stolen state revenues for example.
Patriots need to start working with their Trump-endorsed state lawmaker candidates ASAP to repeal 16&17A.
Insights welcome.
I wonder how many Americans know the IRS, not to mention many other federal non LEO agencies, have armed themselves. And how many more will find out for the first time by virtue of PR afforded by this bill.
