It gives me a measure of peace to be able to look at the urns of my pups. Even if a person doesn’t favor cremation for human relatives, it’s the only way for me for my pups. Not that I will, but if I were to ever move, I know I can take them with me. Not something you can do if they are in the ground.

My household had multiple passings in short order. My mom on Nov 4, 2011. Brother-in-law on Jan 15, 2012. My oldest son on May 17, 2012. We paid for my brother-in-laws funeral and he was interred with my mother-in-law. My son was cremated and his urn rests in his bedroom with his rock collection until such time as my wife and I decide where we want all 3 of us "planted". I turn 66 in 3 weeks, so it is time to make some arrangements. If allowed, the pups urns will go with us.
