Indeed.

See, I can type a letter too!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Try this one. My wife’s dad recorded this and a few others in his Jacksonville recording studio before MCA picked them up.
Also, my wife’s dad had the honor of recording Freebird for the very 1st time also before MCA.
ENJOY!

I was feeling shitty about the world this morning until I heard this version of Free Bird. Thanks for sharing this V_TWIN. This is an excellent version and to me, is way better than the one played on the radio.
This version sounds to me like what you would hear if they performed it in a smoke-filled bar where everyone was drinking tap beer from pub style glasses.
Awesome! Thank you!
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it my friend.
To your point about performing in a smoke filled bar, you are spot on......that is exactly what they were doing during the Shadetree records recording sessions. Just a local band trying to make it in the music industry.
If you have time check out this story that ran in the local paper recently.
Tom Markham was my wife’s dad’s partner in Shadetree.
Wife’s dad passed away in 2015 but Tom is alive and well and he and my wife are now partners in Shadetree records.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Thank you!
Hadn’t heard this beautiful song in years.
But now the lyrics confuse me.
Is he leaving her? Or did she leave him?
Funny in all the hundreds of times I istened and swayed to thst song back then I never really considered the meaning of the lyrics.
Such a wonderful song.
How very cool. Thank you!
Welcome 👍
“I’ve got to be free” is the relevant lyrics.
