Now they're fighting in PA.
My problem w/ Wawa in FL is that they go into ghetto areas b/c it's cheaper. No Wawa in Jupiter after all these years of development b/c they don't want to pay for premium real estate.
WaWa is as woke woke as it gets.
Up until now, there was only ONE Wawa west of a Sheetz in PA. I wonder what changed.
I thought that about Wa and Sheetz too.
The headquarters, Wawa University and the first ever Wawa are within 10 miles of me in the Philly burbs.
I hadn't heard this! In fact I had breakfast and lunch from there today. Can you elaborate?
Between Sheetz, Turkey Hill, and Royal Farms, it won’t be easy…
They sell ethanol free gas so I’d like to see them here in Kentucky. We have too few stations that sell real gas.
Where I live there’s a Sheetz about 1.5 miles south of a Wawa on the same road.
No ethanol free gas can be sold by any gas station where I live due to EPA regulations. It’s a 40 mile round trip to get ethanol free gas, so even if I thought there was some benefit to using it, which I don’t, the 40 mile drive to get it would more than outweigh any benefits it might have.
I used ethanol gas in my riding mower. I have for the last 5 years. I don’t drain the gas at the end of mowing season...
...and it ALWAYS starts right up in the spring.
We LOVE WaWa and had no idea they were woke. Ugh. Was hoping they would move west but now........
The benefit to me for having to drive 40+ miles to get ethanol free gas is being able to not destroy my 45 year old outboard motor when I need to run it.
My tank was half empty so I topped it off at WaWa four days ago. My MPG is up 4 mpg. I don’t get it. Yes my car has a current mpg readout. I went from 27.5 to 32.1
Ask him for proof, don’t just accept that.
Maybe he owns a Sheetz...
I welcome the competition to the mid state just based on the principle that competition is good. I really don’t frequent convenience stores other than picking up an occasional quart of milk or fill up on gas. I grew up around Philadelphia as a kid, long before Wawa stores were anything more than very basic. Some people say their hoagies are good. I can’t imagine buying a hoagie at anywhere other than my old neighborhood deli tho.
It is certainly a debate without end. I would like to see it gone for personal and economic reasons. Though I am fully aware it ain’t going away.
I buy it when I can. Which is generally only for my motorcycle because I ride all over central KY for pleasure, my cars are transportation only and don’t often get driven where I can get it.
I like Wawa hoagies. Ham and Cheese Shortie for me (not nearly as good as Publix, or even Jersey Mikes though).
That said, Sheetz has a better menu b/c they fry stuff.
Wawa - better food. Sheetz - better menu options.
Wawa Shorti Italian hoagie -
Wawa started out trying to mimic 7/11. Back in the day my 7/11 had a deli and made sandwiches. VERY little to differentiate them.
BOTH sold magazines. Many of the magazines were XXX. The story goes that a high level executive from Wawa went to a local WaWa to find several boys going through the XXX magazines. It so bothered him that it resulted in ALL magazines being removed from Wawa. To this day there are NO magazine racks in Wawa.
In the 30 years since Wawa has all but supplanted 7/11 in the Philly suburbs.
Frequent a couple of local WAWAs and have never observed any “wokeness” symbols like rainbow flags or signs of perversion...
