Great race- Swede Marcus Erickson had a comfortable lead with 6 laps left. Teammate Jimmie Johnson of NASCAR fame has a major accident in turn two (third turn 2 accident today). Red flag comes out at lap 195- five lap sprint to the finish for the Indy 500!!! (Coverage on NBC)
I know, I know, do not exceed means, do not exceed 185 mph, just like it says...

Try this from the Beverly Flight Center. Could they be lying? Maybe. Look at the speed listed where it says, “Do not exceed”. It indicates 185 MPH. Does that mean everything below that speed is unsafe?

I used to start a live Indy 500 thread each year but i got to involved in the thread and not the race. Those threads went really long.
When i saw what was going to happen at the end of the race this year i had to post.

Great race and, to their credit, a political free telecast by NBC. Mike Tirico, who i absolutely love, mentioned how the Indy 500 always takes place on Memorial Day weekend and has a heavy emphasis on America’s veterans, “coupled with the recent tragedies in Texas and NY when people emotions are raw”...and that was it. No bob costas preaching, lecturing, you better do this, crap.

My son recently bought a house two blocks from where we go in for our seats.
Speedway is a great neighborhood for being in the 465 circle.
When I see these FRs detractor posters running 500 miles with lap averages at IMS over 220 I will take what they say as not total crap.
Otherwise they are complete blowhard idiots!
