Average inner-city Black grandmother is 35 years old - meaning that she was herself a "feral urban youth" only a couple of decades ago.
The phrase "God-fearing Black grandmother" conjures up images of a kindly old church-going lady. There may have still been such ladies back in the 1970s - but today?

It is a true comment.
I am in a position to know this well, I serve these people every day in my work, and I see this and hear about it.
That situation hails especially from the early 60's, eg, Democrats esp Pres Johnson with his communofascist "war on poverty" wrecking black families (as it bought votes), which up until then were continuously advancing. It then became easy to not marry and get by with broken families, and broken families became the government sponsored norm. This is yet another direct and non-theoretical reason to detest the communofascist, racist, drama-queen Democratic Party for the untold suffering it has caused for so many, including black families.
These black grandmas may not be perfect, but many are forced to be the parents top their grandchildren in the most broken of families; and their residual Christianity does indeed reach some of their grandchildren, who do go on to better lives than they would otherwise. I have seen this occurring many times over the years, and it is great to see some blessed by this.
Those grandmas (and some grandpas too) are so tired, and have to deal with so much crap from every side in caring for those children, often with the children's mother in prison or with the kids removed from mother by child protective services, and of course no fathers, but thank goodness sometimes grandfathers.
It also remind me too (until the more political comments started) of ALL grandmas everywhere when their grandchildren come to visit. "Mom's mom is like my mom." Any grandkids of mine who get to stay here end up looking like that photo. Kids know who loves them, and it is fortunately often an entire family.
