In a pointed letter to teams last week, Major League Baseball said numerous clubs' stadiums "fall embarrassingly below the high standards" necessary for women who are part of the game's traveling parties to do their jobs, create an "untenable working environment" and that organizations soon must reconfigure their facilities to fix what the league deemed "unacceptable," according to a copy of the memo obtained by ESPN on Thursday.
The letter, sent May 20 by MLB senior vice president of on-field operations Michael Hill to general managers, assistant general managers and some ballpark-operations staff, highlighted the issues a wide array of women -- including coaches, trainers, analysts, translators, mental-health professionals, massage therapists, player-development employees and others -- face because of substandard facilities. MLB regulations laid out in a March 16, 2021, memo require that women staffers for home and road teams receive a clean locker room space that is close to the main clubhouse, is private and includes a restroom and shower.

Who are the women playing major league ball?
I wonder how the word” private” is defined. Are mens’ clubhouses “private”?
It is very specific. For the sake of their privacy only women are allowed in these spaces. Of course, that includes transgendered “women”. If you don’t want to see a dong when you are showering, you must be a bigot.
Oh, wait. How do we even define a ‘woman’?
And what about those who only “identify” as women?
50 years ago, women said they only wanted to be treated like “one of the guys”. Now they want their own facilities, including a shower.
I wonder how woman is defined.
Where are the freaking bidets?? Women need to be pampered after a long nine innings of playing baseball and sliding into home plate.
Did I read that correctly? Are they complaining about inadequate facilities for the party girls?
I'm old enough to remember when women insisted that it was only fair that they be permitted access to the men's locker room while they are changing their clothes. It was controversial but they got it and I'm sure that for their efforts they got to see a lot of naked men. I'll bet even then though that they wanted no men in their own spaces.
I’d like to hear more about the “message therapists.”
They could easily avoid this.
How about no women in mens locker rooms? Men reporters and cleaners arent in the womens lockerrooms.
I’m not a brain dead liberal nor a genetecist, so I have no idea.
There are established rules for this. Interesting that the only stadium they mentioned by name at MLB level was the successful one. The MLB stadiums are all big time money and can afford the changes in staff. Minor leagues don’t always stay up with that and even umpires at lower levels are sometimes limited to a closet to change clothes and prep for the game while rubbing up balls with the mud.
So if they are not going to identify the stadiums that are not conforming, and are aiming the problem at minor leagues more than majors, then they are not taking it seriously as the only private owner of a ballpark is the Gateway Economic Development Corporation, who financed the construction of Jacobs Field (renamed Progressive Field) in downtown Cleveland for the Indians.
Every other stadium in the US and Canada is shared so there are no MLB team ownerships. So why blame the teams. Look at the leases.

“Now they want their own facilities, including a shower.”
Slippery slope.

(I wonder how woman is defined.)
It can no longer be defined. /Supreme Court appointee
Is MLB doing anything about the imbalance in elementary school teachers and nurses? Why not?
just not happy being fans or cheer leaders...oh no, they just gotta get “involved”...so annoying..

So the people screaming for equality in sports now want special treatment when it comes to accommodations?
