Wars and Rumors of Wars

Is today’s America what World War II fighters, Korean War fighters, Vietnam War fighters, and other American warriors sacrificed and died for?

Uncle Sam sent me to South Korea in 1953 during its war of survival against communist North Korea.

Rumbles of yet another war while I was there – that would in time explode into war in Vietnam – made some of my comrades believe that at rotation time, they would be headed to that next fight against communism instead of returning to the states. One of my schoolteachers wrote in 1953: “What do you do there besides freezing in the winter...I hope they send you home before things get started in Indo-China. It looks very much as if that is the next step. I pray that it is not...” Many who dodged the bullet in Korea did in fact end up fighting in that next confrontation with communism.

Does the fact that we fought communism well over half a century ago register in the minds of many of today’s young Americans who seem eager and ready to embrace the geopolitical scourge of communism that brought down major countries, including the once great civilization of China, turning it into the world’s greatest dictatorship?

Since my return to civilian life I have witnessed a series of turbulent decades that have pushed America off its foundation. Then and now seem like antipodes between two different worlds, one declared “innocent” but easily proven saner, the other “sophisticated” yet – in spite of numerous advances in burgeoning fields – conspicuously deranged.

I don’t think we fought communism so we could have the Wokeism variant of the ideology here.

My friends didn’t die for nothing. They died so I wouldn’t have to.

Short of a divorce, I see no escaping a devastating, ruinous, violent conflagration.
The left absolutely hates any and everything Conservatives and the right hold dear. The Conservatives and the right are appalled by the beliefs and actions of the new left.

And that D I V O R C E, damn well better come quick.

If only it were that easy, it would have occurred already.

You are 100% correct. I don’t think that a divorce from them will wholly avert violence, but it will probably save a lot of lives. Their first move as a separate nation would be to invade or just nuke us. The violence is coming to the extent it’s not already here.

Embrace authoritarian communism, embrace mass starvation. Russian communism begot the collectivization of the 30s. They had their five year plans. We have how many years before climate Armageddon? China had the Great Leap Forward resulting in tens of millions of deaths. We have our decadent west 8, 9 year or whatever plan to leap back greatly into the climate change Stone Age. We’ll be lucky if hundreds of millions aren’t starved to death or vaporized.

The sad thing is that years after such a "divorce", the conservative side will be split again as the cancer of leftism starts working its way through that body politic.

I think the divorce “settlement” is initially,,, at the city limits. THEY stay inside their concrete jungle, and keep themselves out of our lives, our culture, and our conservatism. That might require a wall and checkpoints for exiting the city/socialist prison.

They keep their socialist woke rules inside the city limits and nobody gets hurt, and Maybe we will sell them some pricy food,,,maybe.

“...fighting that is not directly linked to defending one’s homeland, family, and community is wanton disregard for innocent human life, which no responsible leader can justify.”

+1000

40 (50, actually) BILLION DOLLARS to corrupt Ukraine, with no accountability. They shot down an amendment for oversight of the funds by an IG. Free money!!!! Laundered back into campaign war chests via Raytheon, etc. and family members. Generals get lucrative board seats (some still serving!!!). Congressmen get promises of board seats and family jobs.

And we’re out of baby formula.

Everyone who voted for this steaming pile needs to be tar and feathered.
