They live in their own bubble that is nothing like the reality middle America faces each day. They don't deal first-hand with illegals. Most of them don't drive. Most of them don't do their own grocery shopping. They have health care plans far superior to most of the rest of us. Their children don't know what public school is. And, if they do, you can bet it's not a low-income ghetto school.
And, they know that all they have to do to stay in power and keep those votes and money coming in, is to keep making promises of milk and honey to an ignorant mass of people who are convinced somebody owes them something.
This seems bigger than money, to me. Money, itself, is being destroyed. The payout for those responsible has to be something else, I think.
