Legendary NFL quarterback Drew Brees will not return to NBC after just one season as a studio and game analyst, according to sources.
The decision seemed mutual as Brees preferred doing games over the “Football Night in America” studio show, and NBC didn’t have many NFL games to offer him. NBC soured on Brees’ potential after originally believing he could develop into the heir apparent to Cris Collinsworth on “Sunday Night Football” games.
On the air, Brees, 43, had an up and down rookie season that was highlighted by a poor performance in his biggest broadcast of the year, the Bengals-Raiders playoff game.

He took a knee...
He just saw that wasn’t his thing and left.
Since I no longer watch any games or pregame shows doesn’t mean much to me.
Don’t you remember he got in a lot of trouble for talking against that, and saying, he “will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States.”
Tony Romo’s great. So does Drew Brees sucks at the TV gig? Just wondering. Tom Brady’s contract is stupid. Peyton Manning would make sense. We’ve all heard him talk. We would think Peyton has what it takes to be the next Romo or Madden. But Brady? Doubt it. He might be the next Troy Aikman for all we know. And Troy Aikman sucks.
They can replace Brees with a Rhesus monkey and folks won’t know the difference.
Well, you think it would be worth it to give him more than one year. I think Aikman isn’t that bad, but I would turn off or mute Peyton Manning instantly. He and his voice are annoying, and he isn’t very good at expressing any intelligible thoughts on football. Would he have time to be a football announcer with all the ads he does?
Crybaby
Afraid of the big Black men on his team.
Pussy
His flip flop cost him a lot of cred
He and his wife are despicable anti-American race traitors and I hope he never works another day in his life. They can both drop dead.
My regard for him, which was pretty high for his old stances, simply plunged when he did that.
I doubt his firing had anything to do with his old patriotic, pro military, pro flag sentiments.
He stood up then commented against taking a knee. Then he retracted
Brave Sir Robin.
“Brave Sir Robin”...lol.
They are going to pony up for Peyton.
First off I don’t believe what you say is true. But, if it was true then he should have quit and said why. But I’m pretty sure he was more concerned about what the white liberals would say about him than what his black team mates would think or do.
You wonder who was he afraid of.
Jack Bauer always said, “They’re gonna kill you anyway.” Only the courageous listened to Jack.
There’s such a thing as physical courage getting confused with virtual courage.
The courage to be virtuous is what good stories are all about. Physical courage is just winning a game or a physical battle. It’s not the same thing
People who don’t defend the flag, who don’t live up to their pledge of allegiance for it make us all pay the price. That duty is for everyone who ever recited it. It’s for every NFL player and every chicken sitting in the stands instead of walking out.
