JHU has lost a lot of its earned respect by hiring reds and now, sexual weirdos. That is a real loss to academia.
About 15 years ago JHU started making changes and all the good, seasoned doctors saw the hand writing on the wall and either retired or quit. It was then bought out by a hospital corporation which took over other hospitals as well but all use the JHU name. Same with the Mayo Clinic which has always been sub standard.
There’s a reason for this ideological pandering. IIRC, JHU is the largest recipient of government medical research dollars in the country. They are typically the largest research expenditures university in the country...to the tune of $2.5B+ (from their own 2017 announcements).....I’d imagine that figure is much higher now.
