Jumi Bello’s essay about why she had plagiarized parts of her debut novel, which had been scheduled to come out later this year, was taken down Monday after the online piece was discovered to also contain plagiarism.
The online magazine Literary Hub had published the essay, titled “I Plagiarized Parts of My Debut Novel. Here’s Why,” on Monday morning. Hours later, editors decided to pull the piece after several social media users pointed out similarities between Bello’s writing and other materials, top editor Jonny Diamond told the AP.
According to Diamond, the plagiarized sections lifted from sources detailing the history of plagiarism.

In fact, biden almost got kicked out of Syracuse law school for plagiarism. That is a FACT.
But its still PLAGIARISM if you claim that its your original writing.
People often confuse copyright infringement with plagiarism. The concepts overlap in some instances, but they're distinct torts. You can have one without the other.
There's something to be said for consistency...
If her publisher wants to hire me, I will rewrite all the plagiarized parts as a ghost writer.
Better still, just steal the original parts and publish them as your own.

Probably a low IQ protected minority that thought plagiarism in the business didn’t matter. Unfortunately it does for even the most protected snowflakes. Publishers can end up paying big on those lawsuits.
