The roommate of a gay rights activist who was found dead in a Florida landfill earlier this year has been arrested and charged with his murder

On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Steven Yinger, 36, on charges of first-degree murder of 54-year-old Jorge Diaz-Johnston

Diaz-Johnston, the brother to former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, had been missing since January 3, was discovered in a trash pile at a landfill on January 12

Diaz-Johnston had been married to his husband, Don Diaz-Johnston, since March 2015

The couple were among five other same-sex couples who sued the Miami-Dade County Clerk's Office in 2014 after they were denied the ability to get married

The two were married shortly after winning the high-profile court case

The roommate of a gay rights activist who was found dead in a Florida landfill earlier this year has been arrested and charged with his murder.

On Thursday, a grand jury indicted Steven Yinger, 36, on charges of first-degree murder for the grisly killing of Jorge Diaz-Johnston, 54, the brother of former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, who had been missing since January 3.

About a week after his disappearance, Diaz-Johnston was discovered in a trash pile at a landfill in Baker, Florida, roughly 60 miles east of the Alabama border, Tallahassee police announced on January 12.

The indictment charges that Yinger strangled Diaz-Johnston before moving his body and stealing his BMW and iPhone. Yinger is currently being held without bail.

Yinger was also charged with tampering with evidence, theft of Diaz-Johnston’s possessions and fraudulently using Diaz-Johnston’s personal information, according to the Washington Post.

The killing reportedly happened after a falling-out between the roommates after Yinger allowed a meth addict friend to stay in their home for an extended period of time.

Jorge apparently tried to have Yinger removed from

That’s why one can only do good works at a bit of a distance.

I read about a guy that allowed somebody to stay at his place with his girlfriend. The guest started hitting on his girlfriend and the guy threw him out. The guest came back with a gun and killed the girlfriend and the guest shot the guy in the head four times, but he survived with extensive brain damage. His parents had to become caretakers for the rest of their lives.

when I was growing up, we had a constant stream of down on their luck friends staying at our house while they straightened their lives out. Most did great except the alcoholics. One of my moms old friends went wild while parents were on vacation and literally drank up our entire very sizable booze cabinet. Amazing she could even live through that. It was different back then - good people going through tough times. Today, it’s more dirt bag parasites living off of the government as a lifestyle choice.

As a person, I’m pretty generous. In concept, I have no problem with letting people stay at my place for as long as they need to do so, as long as they are getting their act together. Unfortunately, that mentality will get you killed now.

Churches need to adapt.

So the vic was “married” 6 or 7 years ago but given the circumstances of his murder his partner doesn’t seem to have been anywhere around. I assume it didn’t last.

Florida news ping

I haven’t seen this in ANY south Florida media. I do admit I haven’t been consuming the south Florida media the past few days because of vacation....but let me tell you, if this had a connection to conservatives or Christians the media from Palm Beach to Monroe would be screaming bloody murder.

Here's one...

Man Indicted in Murder of Ex-Miami Mayor's Brother Jorge Diaz-Johnston and his husband Don were plaintiffs in a historic lawsuit that led to the legalization of same-sex marriage in Miami-Dade

BTW, according to the article, looks like the perp has an extensive criminal record. WTG, Florida!

This is just one instance, but it really is typical of homosexual households.

Much more domestic violence according to official statistics, and when it's two men it's more deadly.

Another idyllic gay couple with a live in sex gimp, who invited in his meth head buddy

A perfect place to raise a child.
I cannot figure out why this combination did not work out

I have learned the hard way that you can't open yourself up too much when trying to help people with "issues". Did help many, but had a BIL who was one for the books. Took advantage of his elderly parents until they finally threw him out (oh boy, the guilt-trip bullets he threw at them!). They pressured my wife to take him in to "help him restart his life". We did (after much pressure), and he seemed to be doing okay. After several months, we finally took some time for ourselves and went on a family trip. Seems we had just cleared the driveway when he went nuts. Turned our house into a drunken block party with any strangers he could find! My FIL came by, saw the disaster, and threw everyone out (there were strangers sleeping in my bed, and my children's beds!). Then FIL stayed there to keep the tide at bay (in case any invitees tried to return). Needless to say, when we returned and found out, the BIL was OUT with all offers of assistance in the future cancelled.

Bleeding hearts, watch your 6. (from one who has been there).

Contravening a Law of God removesw or is the sign of the lack ofw any moral reservations about other actions. What we used to call “flagrant” homosexuals have contravened a basic rule of western civilization so there aree no other rules that they hold sacred, some just because successful breaing of one rule makes the next break easier, some who feel that breaking on. rule reqires breaking them all to justify the first.

Well, as Provensa says, “It’s always the husband, it’s always the husband, it’s always the husband”.

They only fake married for an agenda. All the firsts in various places never stayed together. They only work to destroy marriage.

It’s weird that they’d keep this quiet. The victim is the brother of the former mayor.
