WASHINGTON (AP) — Russia has tapped a new Ukraine war commander to take centralized control of the next phase of battle after its costly failures in the opening campaign and carnage for Ukrainian civilians. U.S. officials don’t see one man making a difference in Moscow’s prospects.Russia turned to Gen. Alexander Dvornikov, 60, one of Russia’s most experienced military officers and — according to U.S. officials — a general with a record of brutality against civilians in Syria and other war theaters. Up to now, Russia had no central war commander on the ground.
The general’s appointment was confirmed by a senior U.S. official who was not authorized to be identified and spoke on condition of anonymity.
But the White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said “no appointment of any general can erase the fact that Russia has already faced a strategic failure in Ukraine.”....

Although I agree with the article, this guy can cause a lot of misery.
I think the western missiles, and better intelligence are going to lead to victory.
The faster we can bring the war to an end, the better.
They should use the Russian reserves that were frozen to rebuild Ukraine. And I think Ukraine should take some forested areas of Russia too, if only temporary to harvest wood to help rebuild.

We’ve been supplying western missiles. US, UK, Germany, Turkey. UK is even starting to send anti-ship missiles.
Russia has been providing Ukraine with tanks.
Belarus provided a battalion to fight on Ukraine’s behalf.
Though neither of those have official approval. :)
Now the Czech’s and Australian’s are providing weapons too.
Russia’s war against Ukraine is an encyclopedia of military error, failure, and gross incompetence. One general cannot fix that, but a large new dose of brutality will further inflame Western opinion against Russia.
The West supplying the Ukraine with weapons is not going to start a world war just like the Russians and the Chinese supplying the North Vietnamese did not start a world war. SAME SAME.
So far, the Soviets - I mean "Russians" - have shown very little coordination/cohesion - which has been lucky for the Ukrainians.
Russia could turn Ukraine into a sheet of glass if it so chose. Same for many of our cities if we get involved to protect Soros’s puppet “President” Zelensky and their massive child sex trafficking state (why the Derp State is up in arms). All for what ? Not our fight and none of our business.

A US law is a Western missile. I don’t think a 66mm rocket is going to start WWIII. But a lack of Western will may start it.

We’ve been supplying western missiles as slowly as our bureaucracy can fill out forms in triplicate, dot the “i”s, and create more bureaucracy. Should be a big help to Pootie and justify Moscow Joe’s paycheck(s).
Not the same. Vietnam was thousands of miles away from either of us. This is a direct menace to Russia right in their backyard.
