“On The Waterfront” is a top ten favorite movie of mine. Hollywood would NOT make that one today.

I tried picturing him in my mind before I looked at the article. And I was 100% correct. He was one of those “hardest working men” in Hollywood and was in everything. Great actor.

He was one of my favorites. As great a character actor as Akim Tamiroff!

A very good character actor. He was in one of my favorite Columbo episodes playing a nightclub owner who was blackmailing a magician “The Great Santini” (Jack Cassidy) who was a former prison guard in a Nazi concentration camp.

He liked commie Streisand. That is enough for me to hate him.

Mr. Persoff was one of the great character actors. He even had a spot in at least one episode of “Gilligan’s Island”. I always liked him. RIP.

A great character actor. Always loved him in The Untouchables TV show as Jake “Greasy Thumb” Guzik.
Along with John Dehner, Persoff was one of my favorite actors to see in all of their TV and movie roles. His passing made me wonder who had more appearances as the both were highly prolific. IMDB shows Persoff with 206 acting credits while Dehner shows an amazing 288 credits.

One of the best character actors of all time.

Great actor. One of those guys who never was one of the big stars with his name above the title, but a great supporting actor. When I picture him, it is as Jake Guzik in the TV series The Untouchables.

If it was a ‘60’s TV drama, you either had him or Malachi Throne playing the sinister European.
