It was 1 long ass book. Over 1000 pages. Don’t recall it being broken into separate books but I could be wrong.

I think that you're thinking of "Mission Earth" as opposed to " Battlefield Earth" ... that series by L. Ron Hubbard was 10 volumes long ...
