It is glitter, not sparkles and it was an extra charge to add it. Nobody that is anybody orders popcorn ceiling without the glitter extra.

Ours have sparkles, and I’ve always enjoyed them. It’s not as though it’s a solid sheet of glitter; it’s just tiny dots of light scattered overhead like faraway stars which disappear and reappear elsewhere if you move your gaze.

Even plain popcorn at least has some texture. Can’t quite figure out why anyone wants a boring ceiling like a flat, empty sky. The only problem is if a stain occurs or a patch falls off (a tornado took part of our roof and dampness caused that), it’s more difficult, but not impossible to match the new section to the old. It’s a ceiling, after all, and most people don’t look at ceilings for long.
