That truck being flipped on it’s side, then being blown back over on its wheels, then driving away would make a great commercial!
Yes, for DEPENDS!.......................
It will be the next internet challenge.
I once saw a car hit some black ice, bounce into the air and do a 360 landing perfectly on all 4 tires without a scratch of damage. The guy started driving off then his vehicle died. We stopped to see if he was ok and he refused to believe what happened! He thought he just slid around on the ice.
It happened so fast I think it was a blur to him but my parents and I all had a front row seat and clearly saw his suspension and exhaust system flashing in front of us about 8 feet off the ground.
It was doing one of those really bad winters in the late 70s.
“If I’m Lyin I’m dyin”.
Absolutely! Takes the Chevy "built like a rock" slogan to new levels.
Ha!
Pissed off he’s going to have to deal with his insurance company now. Rumor has it that it was a kid about 18.
Once I was driving up Highway 80, towards Lake Tahoe, in pretty good snow. I was driving way too fast. All of a sudden the car hit something in the road and did a complete 360 degree turn in about a second and a half. I thought I was a dead man. The car ended up perfectly aligned with traffic just one lane to the left, which was the shoulder. If I was a cat, that would have been one out of nine.
My oldest brother rolled (360 degrees)the early 1970s something International Travellall. It looked just like the one in this link, except it was fire engine red with the fake wood on the side. It had a straight six 400 cu inch engine. It was a beast. Drove like a bus with a tractor engine.
He was with two of his buddies. They all walked away with no major injuries. The Travellall was dented a little. My father and brother pounded out the dents, repainted and it was good to go.
“I CANNOT believe they drove away like that.”
“Just fly the airplane” is something I’ve heard/read pilots say. Same goes for driving...”Just drive the car”. If you stop trying to control the vehicle in a “situation” you’re likely to be in worse trouble than if you try to keep control.
$5 says Chevrolet Truck Division will use that clip in an ad. </smile>
if I was that guy, the very next thing id do is go buy a lottery ticket!!
Your experience on Hwy 80 sounds like one of mine on I-10 somewhere between Beaumont and Houston. It was raining and the group I was travelling in was all going way too fast (say about 90 mph).... I looked to my right and the pickup truck in that lane was starting to spin out. It went on to the shoulder to the right and then the grass and I believe it completed a 360 as it slid/spun all the way to a service road on the other side of the grass where it straightened out....and then it just kept going without skipping a beat at about the same speed on the service road as what we were doing on I-10. Lucking no one on the service road was ‘in the wrong place at the wrong time’.
Forget the rocks!........................
Would make a great commercial. Our trucks are built so tough...
My father-in-law drove a “Travelodge” for years. He cried when he got rid of it.
Do they have Lottery in Texas?.......................
Yes.
