I'm hoping to get 50 acre or more farm Southern Missouri, Kentucky or Tennessee. Wife is OK with that she wants to spend less then i do for the land. We expect to pay a lot for farm equipment. I've been learning a lot about modern farming techniques. Hopefully it will work out under budget. We want to go into it owing nothing.
Selling our excess food will be a learning process. I'm thinking a web site selling quantities of product on line. but we will see.
We're planning for the worst hoping for the best.

Best of luck to you! I believe you’re going to be much happier (maybe not rich, but definitely happier) being in close contact with the land.
Please post updates from time to time on how you’re faring. This is interesting as all heck.

Check the soil types. You will want Class 1 and Class II. Avoid clay soils.

I’ve heard people getting 8+ tons per acre with hemp.
