Common ailments with such symptoms are Right Heart Failure, Cor Pulmonale, or Congestive Heart Failure (CHF.) If the pedal edema becomes exacerbated it can result in a problem known as ‘Venous Stasis’ where fluids simply cannot mobilize properly and then seepage through the actual epidermis can occur. This would make your legs sort of grossly moist and discoloration is as well associated with that.
Sometimes a simple diuretic can be very helpful. Diuretics can be dangerous and positively should be Rx’d by a Physician and the results closely monitored.
A stenotic Aorta can make breathing and exertion difficult. Sometimes BiPAP might help. Years ago I considered putting myself on
BiPAP at work. I never did it though as my symptoms became exponentially aggravated over a very short period of time.
Anyhow, once I went through that entire hospitalization and procedure, I felt quite well indeed.
You definitely need a Doctor whom you can speak with and trust. I have been fortunate myself, but it is true, I have a little background on this sort of thing.
thank you. I’m pretty sure I have pitting edema - indentations last about 45 seconds.
I was on a diuretic protocol only for 4 days and they combined it with potassium pills.
My bathroom breaks didn’t increase, for which I told my PCP - no response.
I decided to take a different type of water pill plus I am wearing compression socks and sleeping with my legs elevated.
I am on an albuterol protocol where I take 2 puffs 4 times a day. I was on a CPAP but I kept waking up choking...then the CPAP got recalled.
I have all kinds of other co-morbidities going on.
High BP; Type II Diabetes; Stage 3a kidney failure; MGUS; Enlarged prostate; liver and lung lesions BMI indicates obese...among other things... and the COVID fog lingers.
I use the V.A. so the PCP is assigned. The specialists are from Loyal Medical Center.
Other than that...things are ACES.
Thanx again.
It’s nice to have a person with medical experience who is willing to share this information with us here. Thank you for the explanation.
