My husband nicknamed me Botulism Bridget because I see nothing wrong with eating day’s old leftovers or food left out overnight. I have never gotten sick.
My husband leaves things out too. It has gotten so that I will not eat anything that he cooks. Unless it just came from the market. He has notions that leaving seafood or chicken out for 5 or 6 hours after it was cooked - is no big deal. In fact, if food hasn’t cooled to room temp, he will NOT place it in the fridge.
One of these days I expect he’ll end up sick from this practice, and when the Dr. asks me what he’d eaten recently I will just shrug. LOL, he thinks I’m nuts for worrying about the way he handles food, and I think he’s risking his life.
LOL...you’re like me. My wife will throw out frozen and canned food on the “expiration” date. Me — I’ll eat anything (as long as it isn’t green and fuzzy).
