Grew up in Burnaby off Hastings St.
The dive Chinese restaurant across the street occasionally served flounder from Burrard inlet, or so it was said.

A restaurant on Hastings not far from Empire Stadium was actually shut down when the health inspectors found a lot of cat meat in the kitchen.

In the 60s. Good times.

We were eating cat tacos at restaurants by my Grandpa’s house. Best taco’s ever!

Born in Saskatoon but moved eventually to Vancouver when I was a kid (damn snow every time in SK). Kingsway area, Vancouver part mostly. I think I know of that resto you speak of LOL.

The great part (depends on your viewpoint) is they FILL/PILE your take out full of food. Then you ask , why is it so cheap? I know places where until now (or 2019 last time I was there) , I can get a full serving of 3 choices for $4 with rice or noodles. and they’re not even close to Chinatown. Chinatown charges you more because it’s a tourist trap.
