The current work involves the creation of unusual excitons in the material nickel phosphorus trisulfide (NiPS3). These excitons are "dressed" or affected by the environment that surrounds them. In this case that environment is the magnetism.
The physicists found that a pulse of light causes each of the little electron "needles" in NiPS3 to start rotating around in a circle. The rotating spins are synchronized and form a wave throughout the material, known as a spin wave. Spin waves can be used in spin electronics, or spintronics...
Spintronics essentially uses electrons' spin to go beyond electronics, which is based on their charge. The ability to create spin waves in an antiferroelectric material could lead to future computer memory devices that can read or write information in a much faster way than those based on electronics alone.
Through their work, the team also demonstrated a rare form of matter. When the physicists exposed NiPS3 to intense pulses of light, they found that it turned into a metallic state that conducts electrons while maintaining its magnetism. NiPS3 is ordinarily an insulator (a material that does not conduct electrons).
The physicists believe this happens because the intense light causes the excitons to collide with each other and break apart into their constituents: electrons and holes. ... But these mobile particles do not interact with the localized electron spins participating in the spin wave, so the magnetism is retained

It reminds me of the teacher who once was asked ‘can sound waves absorb light.” After such an interesting question and much calculation and getting nowhere the teacher asked the student “what made you think of this.” She responded “When I turn on my hair dryer the lights dim.”
Herein lies the secret to transportation with no ground contact at speeds up to Mach 12, plus gridless energy distribution.
🤣
Good illustration of a “hidden variable” - voltage.
I discovered this years ago, but I called it “static cling”
Having an electrical engineering undergrad degree I appreciate the above story I learned from my high school chemistry teacher:)
That sounds very cool and exciting, thanks.
I’m 76 years old. I was probably in my mid 30s before I fully grasped how airplanes could stay in the air.
Now you throw this at me.
Bump for later. Gonna need a large shot of coffee for this post.
Thank you for posting!
You might be correct. Magnetism is theorized to affect gravity.
The design of the system is probably in Tesla’s notes somewhere!
This explains why I glow when I levitate!/s
Seriously, consciousness itself has Light as a natural attribute.
I’ve observed that the higher the frequency of consciousness in meditation, the brighter the Light.
When consciousness shifts to a lower level it yields Light in a similar manner to electrons moving from a higher orbital to a lower gives off photons. Neals Bohr discovered this attribute.
The key to reaching the real high levels is to spin your masculine consciousness one direction and feminine the other direction. These two aspects of consciousness must be stabilized and held together with Love.
This is the end result of the mystics of all religions.
NiPS3, reminds me of the original version of "Total Recall". Thanks BenLurkin.
