been trying for at least a decade, going back to COVID-1/SARS ... traditional vaccine always resulted in antibody dependent enhancement (ADE), that is, if/when you subsequently get naturally infected, you actually get WAY sicker and have a much higher probability of kicking the bucket than you would without the vaccine ...

Not exactly. The common cold is about 200 different virueses, about 40 of them being coronaviruses.
