From 1977-1990 I owned three Dairy Queens in northern California. Paid gallonage and food royalties to American Dairy Queen in Minneapolis. In 1988 the territory of my location was sold to a middle man/territory operator from Seattle. He convinced me to remodel all stores as he was flush with money after selling the Seattle area. After investing nearly one million dollars he ran out of money. Lawyers won, we both lost. DQ has good products but poor management.
