I was downtown a couple years ago for the first time in many years and I was amazed at the transition that was taking place. Renovated office buildings, designer stores, upscale bars and restaurants, abandoned industrial buildings converted into lofts and apartments

So they knocked down the Ghetto and moved the problem elsewhere and started policing the area to make sure it's safe and free of criminals that would scare away ordinary folks who spend money.
