Showing masks in a movie or TV show would date the show as being from "the COVID Era". If they want people to watch the movie or show "after COVID"*, they need to leave off the masks.
*If there is is an "after COVID" era.
On a couple of movies where I watched directors comments a couple of them have said they added smoking scenes to poke the smoking nazis and dogooders in the eye. Sort of a “I know smoking is bad but I don’t give a crap what you think, mind your own business” attitude.
“Smoking on par with blood and gore????”
It’s WORSE. Think of the children!
bump
I want to see The Godfather on the big screen this feb but a mask is out. To hell with them and their movie
Yup. I even read that there was big push from the "woke" generation to have the documentary pulled over the language, smoking and lack of diversity (I guess Yoko and Billy didn't count). Imagine!
and it’s a shame that they’re starting to film with smoking again.“”
I thought the apparent ban on smoking was stupid especially considering the deviance and immorality they replaced it with which they have no qualms about showing. Slightly more annoying now though is the seemingly CONSTANT smoking replete with fake inhaling and self conscious clumsy holding of the cigarette. I can tell if the actor is a real life smoker by the way they hold and handle the cigarette. Most are too aware of the cigarette in their hand. That aside they do over do it now. A few days ago, watching some movie or other, some actress clumsily fired up the films eight billionth cigarette and I actually said out loud “Ah geez give it a rest.”
In real pandemic movies, lots of folks just keel over and die while the first responders wear outer space suits.
I remember one episode where the bad guy gave Columbo some Cubans.
Total waste of quality cigars!
I know what you mean. I’m a lifelong non-smoker, but to me it also seems obvious if an actor/actress is a “real” smoker or not. One of the worst examples I can recall was Keri Russell in “The Americans.” Okay, as a Russian in the ‘80s, not unreasonable for the character to be a smoker, I guess, but Keri just didn’t have it down. She almost invariably looked like the most awkward 10th grader to whom someone had a handed a cigarette at a party. Not exactly what one would expect of a middle-aged KGB operative/assassin.
Wait'll the remake of the War of the Worlds.
So help me, I saw BOTH the other day. Masks AND smoking. At the same time!
I saw a guy walking down the sidewalk, alone, while wearing a mask, which is a separate form of madness. But the guy was also smoking a cigarette WITHOUT TAKING OFF THE MASK!
The guy’s mask had a brown smear across the front, looking exactly like a shit stain would, and that’s where he held the cigarette while he was walking. I didn’t get a picture of this donkey because I was driving at the time. I should have circled back.
I don’t want my kids seeing smoking normalized.
Oh man, you should have gotten a picture or video. Classic.
lolol.
